Hybrids and consulting

Porsche's product range could not be more clear: the 911 series, the Boxster, the Cayenne, and the Cayman. The 911 is the most popular car made by Porsche. It is considered as the dream car of every sports car enthusiast. Porsche is reported to be releasing in the market eco-friendly hybrid cars in the near future.

Porsche has indicated that it is soon to launch a hybrid version of its Cayenne and Panamera models. These hybrid cars will run under reduced fuel consumption with electric motors being installed. The carmaker said the hybrid car's performance will be superb. The Cayenne hybrid, which will use a 34kW electric motor, is expected to be launched sometime this year or early next year. The Panamera hybrid will be introduced around 2010. Demo Panameras, as mentioned on previous blog entriews, are already in teh US.

What many preople do not know is that Porsche also offers consuylting the automobile industry today. Porsche is now doing consultancy services to Harley-Davidson, Daewoo and Subaru. These companies seek the services of Porsche in developing and designing their own models.

The Porsche Panamera

Porschefiles like yours truly have a new sensation; the much awaited, new front-engine, 4-door sedan or namely the Porsche Panamera.

Porsche is cleverly releasing information about the car in a slow fashion. It will only be available for sale next year but the privileged few who have actually seen the car had a major saliva shortage.

The base model Panamera S will sell around $89,000, the four-wheel drive Panamera 4S $93,800and the top-of-the-line Turbo at $132,600. In the coming posts I will try to dissect this new car and hopefully avoid the blunders I have read about it on some trade magazines ( i.e.that it is an elongated version of the 911).
